Highlights
Sail along the river for a little over 2 hours and enjoy the sights of white and brown pelicans, fishing eagles, herons of many white and pink species, ibis, crocodiles and the breath taking spectacle of the largest nesting ground of pink flamingos in the Yucatan.
Visit a salt mine and pink lagoons, a 20 kilometer wide water pond and if the weather allows it swim in a read salty natural pool known as Las Coloradas. End this tour with an exfoliation Maya Spa on a mix of clay and seaweed mask for your body.
Lunch
Enjoy a delicious lunch by the river at Isla Contoy restaurant, where you can have both delicious seafood and an excellent view. The seafood varieties offered are grilled fish, breaded fish, shrimp crepes, shrimp filled fish among others, vegetables, fries, rice and tortillas are also available; the dish is served in a huge plate for 4 people, everyone decides what to eat. One drink is included (water, soda, wine or beer). There are also washrooms for your use.
Ek Balam Archaeological Site
On our way back we will visit the archaeological zone of Ek Balam. On a 45 min guided visit discover small secrets hidden in the jungle, see archaeologists working on this site where there are always new discoveries.
Ek- Balam is one of the most important archaeological zones of the Yucatan, it is differentiates from all the other sites walls, slipstreams and an Acropolis with a decorated facade with statues have been found.
