COPPER CANYON

This wonderful journey takes you through cities that are authentic colonial gems, rich in traditions and culture. Slowly we enter the majestic Sierra Tarahumara where we find one of Mexico's most stunning landscapes, the Copper Canyon; where you will feel the greatness of nature as never before. This is the perfect circuit for those travelers who want to experience Mexico's natural, cultural and historic wonders.

Day 1: Mexico City

- Arrival at Mexico City's Airport where our Mexican representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Mexico – Teotihuacan – Mexico

- Begin this journey in Mexico City, one of the world’s largest and more populated cities, by visiting the Zocalo which is the largest plaza in Latin America. There you will find the Cathedral, National Palace, Supreme Court and the precinct of the Aztec Templo Mayor (or Great Temple) of Tenochtitlan.

- Transfer and tour of Teotihuacan, one of the most important and colossal archaeological site in Mexico. Admire the Quetzalcoatl and Tlaloc temples, The Avenue of the Death and the Moon pyramid and the Sun Pyramid (the second largest in the new world).

- Overnight in Mexico City.

Day 3: Mexico – Leon – Zacatecas (621 km)

- Exit towards the attractive colonial town of Zacatecas, on the way we will stop at Leon Guanajuato to eat at a typical Mexican restaurant.

- We will continue towards Zacatecas and we’ll visit The Eden Mine, the most productive mine of silver and gold during the Spanish conquest. We also visit the Cerro de la Bufa, where we will climb in a cable car to appreciate the magnificent view of the city.

- Tour downtown and admire the pink stone filigree used in its Cathedral and other artistic and cultural treasures such as the Bad Night Palace.

- Dinner and overnight in Zacatecas.

Day 4: Zacatecas – Chihuahua (834 km)

- Early exit towards the city of Chihuahua and stop at Camargo to eat. We continue to Chihuahua where we will visit the city to admire the lightning on the baroque facade of the St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral.

Day 5: Chihuahua – Creel (257 km)

- Tour of the beautiful city of Chihuahua capital of Mexico's largest State. We visit the Museum of the Mexican Revolution located in what used to be Pancho Villa's house, the Quinta Gameros museum and gallery with its Art Nouveau interiors , The Government Palace with its magnificent ornate structures and the Colonial Aqueduct.

- We continue to the town of Cuauhtemoc where you can see the Mennonite fields, we have lunch at a Mennonite house and visit a cheese factory for tasting and direct opportunity to buy directly from the producer.

- Then we go to Creel located on the outer rim of the Canyon, where you will have dinner and spend the night. creel, copper canyon

Day 6: Creel – Divisadero (44 km)

- Early morning visit of the Lake of Arareco, a beautiful u-shaped lake with magnificent rock formations, we also visit the Valley of the Frogs and Fungus, the San Ignacio Mission and the Tarahumara cave.

- At 11:15 we will exit in train towards Divisadero Barrancas to see the impressive views the beautiful spot where the network of canyons come together in the most stunning natural scenery of Mexico. (Let the passengers know that the bus takes the luggage to Mochis and they should separate one change of clothing and valuable objects in their backpacks).

- In the afternoon we will visit the Piedra Volada the tallest water fall in Mexico.

- Dine and lodging at Divisadero Barrancas. chihuahua pacifico

Day 7: Divisadero - Los Mochis (294 km)

- Optional visit of the Tarahumara Museum or take a walk to experience breathtaking views of the canyon.

- Train transportation towards Los Mochis. You will be able to enjoy the most impressive panoramic views while enjoying a meal on the train.

- Arrival and transportation to the hotel in Los Mochis, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Los Mochis – Mazatlan (422 km)

- Exit towards Mazatlan, one of the most beautiful Pacific coast cities of the Mexican Riviera. This cosmopolitan city, also know as “The Pearl of the Pacific”, offers inviting sandy beaches, first class accommodations and the charm of old Mexico.

- Lodging in a semi-all inclusive hotel.

Day 9: Mazatlan

- Day off, to enjoy Mazatlan beaches, restaurants, local markets or take an optional boat ride to the Stone Island to spend a very relaxing day away from the crowds and enjoying a delicious Ceviche under a beach palapa. mazatlan, pacific sea, mexican pacific

Day 10: Mazatlan – Amatitan – Guadalajara (489 km)

- Exit towards Guadalajara, on the way we will visit the little town of Amatitan to see the stunning Herradura distillery and its hacienda where you will see all the process of tequila production all the way to bottle. Meal and at 3 hrs of tequila open bar.

- We will continue to Guadalajara and take a panoramic tour of this splendid colonial city that gives Mexico much of its identity. Cradle of the Mexican charros and the Mariachi bands let Guadalajara colonial monuments and buildings take you back in time.

- Dinner and lodging in Guadalajara.

Day 11: Guadalajara – Tlaquepaque – Guadalajara (7 km one way)

- Visit the city of Guadalajara, the Degollado theater, the Cabañas Institute. Tlaquepaque Meal with Mariachis. You’ll have the afternoon off to go shopping.

- Back to Guadalajara. Dine and lodging.

Day 12: Guadalajara – Mexico City (551 km)
